Dianna Marie Good Sky is a 13/16ths Ojibwe Native American and a registered member of the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa in northern Minnesota. She is also a retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer, author of *Warrior Spirit Rising*, and a storyteller in the deepest sense of the word.

Her life bridges worlds.

Raised on the Reservation.
Shaped by military service.
Transformed by healing and cultural reclamation.

When Dianna speaks, she does not lecture.

She tells stories that change people.

First Native American Female Chief Petty Officer (E7)

Dianna Marie Good Sky made history in 1991 as the United States Navy’s first Native American female to achieve the rank of Chief Petty Officer (E7). In a military where Native Americans serve at the highest rate per capita of any culture — yet rarely remain long enough to advance — her achievement represents both resilience and leadership.

About Dianna

Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Dianna spent much of her youth on the Bois Forte Reservation before following her Navy father to duty stations across the country. She joined the Navy at 18 and retired in 1995 as a Chief Petty Officer.

While navigating her own healing journey, she discovered the power of writing. That journey became *Warrior Spirit Rising* — a story of transformation, cultural survival, and spiritual awakening.

She has not yet collected awards — but she has won hearts.
