What is Your Big Dream?

 

In this post we are going to cover your big dream, the state of dreaming plus going after what you want.

Did you know that some people, myself included, didn’t even know what ‘you big dream‘ even mean’t for the longest time.

I believe that when we’re young we are absolutely encouraged to dream all the time. Then somebody comes home and says something like, “I want to be a Broadway star,” and their parent says something like, “Oh but honey, don’t you think you should have a backup plan and maybe go to college?” Yes, guilty. I did that to my daughter. Oh the Guilt.

She has forgiven me by the way. I want to say to you that first off, as an adult I want to encourage you to get back to dreaming, because dreaming is critical to moving forward and having whatever success that you want. Honestly, I don’t care if it’s your big dream or a small dream. You might be at a place where a small dream is all you can muster right now. That’s okay, because at least you start. Start somewhere.

I believe that one of the things that … I’m going to share a couple of my dreams. I’m going to be a little transparent here, but a couple of my big dreams are, we have a museum, the Boys Fort Heritage Museum in my tribe. It’s a wonderful museum, and it takes a lot of money to run that place. One of my dreams is to be able to support the museum and make sure that it stays open for all to see. Another one of my dreams is to be able to get Native Americans out of poverty. The poverty level for Natives is very high. I want to help get them out and break that poverty cycle. Those are big, long term dreams. Okay?

What if you can only dream about being able to get out of bed everyday and have a good attitude? Being able to get out of bed and feel great about your day. Guess what? That is the perfect, perfect place to start because you have to start somewhere. I want you to really take some time today and reassess your dreams. Get a piece of paper, just whatever you have. Get anything out and just sit down, spend five minutes in quiet and say, “What is my dream? Where do I want to start?” Whatever you decide on, whether it’s a big one or a small one, just start. I want you to go back and think, or maybe you gave something up. I think that’s the biggest tragedy for most people is if they had something and they gave it up. Life happened. You know what? It’s normal. It does happen.

I want to encourage you. Sit down, sit in quiet, and go back to the drawing board. Go back to, what do you want to do in your life? What’s your big dream? Again, if you can’t come up with that right now or if … Look, list it even if you have no idea right now how you’re going to do it, I want to encourage you because it’s important. It’s very important for you to take some time, think about you. Don’t think about anybody else. No one else right now. What is it that you want to do? Take that time and do that this morning. All right? What will happen is, I’m going to help you with this series, I’m going to help you not only identify and then we’re going to start making plans on how this can come true.

My big dream of supporting the Native American Museum is not going to happen overnight. I get that, but when we have our three states of being, our mind, body, and soul in alignment, then we can start moving forward. That’s what we’re here to do.

Success Series #3 -The Three States of Being

Your Three States of Being

 

Today we’re talking about the three states of being and how they impact your success in our success series.

If you haven’t read success series part 2, make sure you go back and read it HERE first.

Hopefully you spent some time yesterday just in quiet, and as we talked about, revisiting your dreams, maybe rekindling them, maybe thinking of something new. No matter if it’s big or small, I want you to know that the fact that your thinking about dreaming is a great start. Congratulations for those of you that did that. I hope that you were able to identify for yourself some dreams that you want to go forward on.

Today, we’re going to talk about the three areas of the three states of being that, we all, we all live in three states of being. They are our spiritual being. You are a spiritual being. You have an intellect. That’s not up for discussion. We all do. And we live in a physical body. Spiritual, intellect, and physical, those are the three states of being.

Of these three states of being, it’s our mind that is the greatest power ever. Our mind is the greatest power ever. Did you know that your body is the manifestation of your mind? Whatever is going on inside, it presents itself in your body. That’s kind of scary for me.

To be frank, learning that was exactly the reason why I decided I needed to get healthier, because even though I have medical issues, the realisation that … If I took a good honest look at myself, good honest look, I have to say there’s something going on inside of me that wasn’t quite right. That was a tough pill to swallow, I will tell you honestly. It was the reason that I wanted to make some changes, and so I started digging deep into the mindset part of it and realised that we think in pictures.

Create Your Vision

 

What I want to encourage you to do is, I want you to think about … You’ve heard about vision boards. Our mind simply thinks in pictures and this is why vision boards work. Whatever dream that you have, whatever goal that you want to accomplish, and I honestly … Guys, listen. It does not matter how many you want to accomplish, or how many different areas that you want to look at.

If you create a vision, whether it’s on a board or whether it’s in your head, wherever you create that vision, if you hold that vision, then part of that will affect your mind. Your mind will then feed all of your actions, or change your actions, and then it will change all your results. It’s very remarkable. Very remarkable.

Thinking about pictures, it’s kind of crazy but it’s the only way to make solid change, is you’ve got to think in pictures, or our mind thinks in pictures, and you’ve got to create something that you can hold on to.

I want you take some time today and understand that if our mind is our greatest power, how do we use this to help move forward into our dreams? Because it’s very critical. It’s the difference between having success and not, because if you don’t have a vision of exactly what you’re going to do, it’s easy to get lost in the clutter, in the fog.

I want to encourage you to create a vision board, or at least create a vision for yourself of exactly where you want to be. Okay? Standing on stage accepting awards. Getting a certain rank in your company. Having certain success in your sales. Having a certain body.

Being cleared at the doctor, whatever it is. Okay? Whatever it is, start to create a vision for yourself, because it is our mind, of these three states of being, it is our mind that affects everything else.

I want to help you gain a greater appreciation for the importance of this particular topic, because it will set you up completely for major success so I hope you have enjoyed learning more about your three states of being.

Success Series #1 – Your Burning Desire

SUCCESS PRINCIPLE #1– Your Burning Desire

Ever wonder why some people seem to want it success more than most?

 

Read on to learn why your burning desire will play a major role in your success, not just in business but also in life!

Today’s topic is going to be what I believe is the very first step in having success, and this can apply to any area of your life.

In my opinion and most other successful entrepreneurs…… A Burning Desire!

You know I’m a business person, but I believe that these strategies are going to be valuable for anyone who wants anything. No matter what their definition of success is, it’s my belief that these strategies will help anyone.

I definitely will appreciate the feedback, and we’ll be talking a little bit later.  I just want to start with the first step.

The first step to major success is, how bad do you want it?

Desire, your burning desire. What is it that you want and how badly do you want it? Now look, some people don’t even know what they want in life or they haven’t figured it out yet.

Some people call it a purpose, but I’m not talking about a purpose. I’m talking about specifically about anything you want to have success in. Okay?

Do you know what it is that you want, and do you have the mindset to be able to get you there? A lot of people have doubt. I think it’s very natural to say something like, “Hmm, I think I want to be an Olympic swimmer.” Then they wonder, “Can I be an Olympic swimmer?” You know?

Especially if they have a bad meet or they’ve had struggles even getting into the pool.Here’s what I know. I know that if a person decides that they really, really want to do something, they will do everything that they need, follow their plan, and get it done.

That’s called a burning desire.

When you have that burning desire to accomplish something the fact of the matter is your brain absolutely kicks into gear because you realise that if you can visualise where it is that you want to go and what it is that you want to do, your brain kicks into gear and it supports you.

Soon all of your thinking, all of your actions start creating the result that you wanted. You have to have that accurate picture in your head. If you wanted to be an Olympic swimmer when you were 10 years old, then you have to start visualising yourself standing on the podium getting medals.

That’s extremely powerful.

If you want to be the number one income earner in your company, guess what you have to do? You have to imagine yourself getting that check. If you want to own a certain home, you have to start imagining yourself actually living in the home that you want.

What happens in that desire, that desire, that burning desire automatically helps all the pitfalls that should come along the way, it helps keep you going. When you have a burning desire no matter what it is, you move in that direction and you create, soon your passion is driven towards that burning desire. It allows you to keep your eyes forward. No matter what happens it allows you to keep on going.

 

Let Your Burning Desire Combat Rejection

 

In my business, rejection is something that gets in a lot of people’s way and they get so hurt about being rejected from people that they completely step back and say, “Forget it, I’m not going to do this,” because rejection is hard. I will say that no matter what it is, when you have a burning desire it will keep you going and it will absolutely get you there eventually.

I just want to say that, it took me a long time for me to realise what I wanted to be when I grew up. I was in my 50s, and it’s a simple epiphany that I had. It was a huge epiphany, but it’s simple.

I want to help people. I believe God put us on this earth and that we’re supposed to help people.

Facebook Live can now broadcast in Landscape! Yay!

I am excited to share with you all that as of a few days ago, Facebook now allows its users to broadcast their live feed in landscape mode. This is a screenshot of my test done in my private Facebook group for those wanting to learn Facebook marketing (crazy video screen saves are my specialty and even though I know how to change them, I don’t mind most of the time).

So hey- If you are used to doing it in portrait mode at least Facebook has upgraded how it looks. No more side bars in black. I like how they muted your screen on the sides. I think this is much better.

But WHY am I so excited about this? Not only because it looks better but because  when you record your videos in landscape mode, it allows you to repurpose them on other platforms (upload from your phone to your youtube channel for instance, or save them for your own course later on, or your blog!

A few tips:

*   Your broadcast will be in whatever direction you start it in so don’t try to move your phone in another direction (portrait vs landscape and vice versa) after you start your broadcast.
*   Check your phone orientation lock prior to going live to be sure you are in the direction you want to be (I unlock my orientation before a broadcast and then turn it back on afterward otherwise my phone drives me crazy with the screen switching back and forth)
*  If you forget to do this, remember you do not have to leave your broadcast on your wall. You can choose NOT to post the video after you complete it.

Another new feature is the “trim” function which allows you to do immediate editing of your live broadcast prior to saving and posting. This will be very useful if you, say, got into a conversation at the end of your broadcast that is not relevant to your topic or a dog barks too much until you got her sorted at the beginning.

  2. Exercise. Studies show that exercise has many benefits and certainly, it can help you in your work day. For more information on this: https://www.diannagoodsky.com/Exercise
  3. Personal Development. This could be a book, a podcast, or maybe a course on mindset. Basically anything that feeds your brain. It is a reality that what you put inside your head, drives who you become. That is powerful and should be remembered, ALL THE TIME.
  4. Review your goals. A quick scan of your long term goals will do wonders for reminding you what you are doing this for and will result in you taking the action towards those goals. Reviewing the Day’s goals will set you up for success y knowing that you can do it. I recommend you do this nightly as well, look over the next day’s goals.
  5. Get to the Tasks on hand for the day. Celebrate each win!
  6. Schedule time for family and friends. Block this time out first.
  7. If using Digital Media to promote yourself or your business, consider having a set time, daily to accomplish these goals. Consider a Blog, Periscope (Grab my free guide top right of page), Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram. Are you new to this part? then pick one and learn, then master that one, before adding the next one. I’ve mastered Facebook and Periscope and am now adding Blab (live stream is the hot ticket)to my online efforts.

At the end of the day, regardless of what may have gotten in the way of your daily routine, what matters most is that you have one and eventually, you will be better able to get it done AND compress the amount of time it takes to get it done.
